Ruminations in Advance of Father’s Day

One Father’s Day will be the last one you’ll get with your dad.

Mine was last year.

He was a bit on the decline at the time, and I remember nothing in particular about it.

But I spent a lot of time thinking about him today.

I wish he could see me now.

I wish he could see how I finally grew up and decided to expect more from myself.

I wish he could meet his new grandbaby in person.

I wish we could golf one more time and see him get so mad about it.

I guess I wish a lot of things.

Don’t spend time wishing later.

Do the things now. Do what you can now.

One day you won’t be able to.

And it might make you wish you did. Or make you wish you started earlier on the things that were truly important to you.

Don’t live a life of regrets, live a life.

Happy Father’s Day weekend.
