The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago.
The second best time is right now.
My favorite Chinese proverb, this platitude captures an idea that seems to always brings happy returns:
Taking action.
We cannot change what we did or did not do twenty years ago (if you’ve even been around that long). Hell, we cannot change what we did yesterday.
But today? Right now? In this moment?
We can.
We can do the things that inspire us to be better, to go farther, to take chances and to dance the dances.
Because we are free the moment we wish to be.
Plant those trees. Tend them well. Help them grow.
And live free forever.
