Want to know if something is important to you or not?
Do that something every day for 7 months and then see how you feel about it.
200 days ago I wondered if I really was in love with becoming a writer, or if I just loved the idea of being a writer. Turns out I found the answer.
Action expresses priority.
But the funniest thing happened along the way.
I connected with a slew of badass people from all over the world.
I found a community, then a niche, then a category. It’s now clear that my main focus is philosophical dad stuff.
I learned that it’s not about what reaches the most people, it’s all about what reaches the right people.
I learned that greatness is not in where we stand, but rather in what direction we are going.
It’s been revelation after revelation.
Showing up every day has begun to have rather serious ancillary benefits as well.
Write about your life every day and see how fast you develop a burning desire to improve upon it every chance you get.
This daily accounting led to renewed vision and hunger in the workplace. That vision formulated a plan. That hunger led to action. That action led to getting the promotion I have long sought.
Once we begin to put process over result, the results have a way of finding their way to us.
This project has wrought unbelievable change to my life.
But I am not special.
If you want to do something, all you have to do is do it.
And when you look up after 200 days, you won’t believe you eyes.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
Onward.
