2021 in Review: Healthier, Wealthier, Wiser – The Wealthier Part

I hesitated to post this one.

It’s not a zero to a million story. It’s not even close. This is a story of incremental progress.

I leaned into my interests this year. And instead of trying to spread myself thin across so many fronts, I focused on a few.

As such, I invested time and resources into those pursuits. Wouldn’t you know it, when you do that, you tend to get better at those things.

I invested in better equipment. I got new golf clubs, I got a new office setup, I enrolled in an online writing program.

I started side hustling. I started small, but over the course of the year made a little over $3,200. Not bad for nights and weekends after the kids went to sleep.

The day my second son was born, I invested in cryptocurrency for the first time. I’m still dabbling as it represents less than 1% of my total investments, but I’m increasing position every week.

Lastly and most importantly, daily writing had a profound effect on my daily effectiveness at work.

Since Ship30for30 started, I’ve averaged over 134% of sales quota each month. This was after a 50% increase in my quota, else the gains would have looked even better. This was enough to earn performance bonuses for each of the last 7 months.

I saw how daily effort compounded quickly when you did it the right way. And as a result, I brought the juice.

When an opportunity opened late this year, I got tapped for a leadership position and a promotion, netting a 40% raise in the process.

And as a result, I’m going into 2022 with more momentum than ever.

Keep building.

The best things have yet to come.
